Wahoo! Happy New Year! It’s the first day of the new year, it’s the first Tuesday of the new year and it’s the first day of January. It feels good to begin fresh and brand new and all that jazz. But rather than focusing solely on resolutions, I’d rather focus on some of the things that I find just too cute (and maybe a few resolutions will sneak in along the way).
1. My dogs Barkley and Payton are just too cute.

Payton’s version of swimming. It mostly involves sitting.

My sweet Barkley.

Barkley keeping watch while I’m sick.
There is something about the unconditional love of a dog that serves as a constant reminder that you are important, that your choices (good or bad) matter, and that while your presence is cause for celebration (full of paws and tongues and tails) your lack of presence is sorely missed. Make your presence count.
“My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my dog already thinks I am.” -Anon
2. Darling Magazine is too cute.
Seriously, if you are female do yourself a favor and pick up Darling Magazine. I promise your mind, heart and soul will thank you. And talk about starting 2013 with a clean slate, for 24 hours they are challenging women all over to post a picture of their completely naked face.
You can read more about the Darling team’s Beauty Revolution here and see my own fresh-faced contribution below.

Here is a wonderful reminder about what beauty really is, and where it comes from:
“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.
A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
― Roald Dahl, The Twits
3. The ToneItUp.com girls are just too cute.
K&K (the two girls behind Toneitup.com) are absolutely adorable and their dedication to sharing their love of health and fitness is not just inspiring, it’s infectious. Not only do they offer a ton of free (KILLER!) workouts you can do in your home and delicious (and healthy!) recipes to keep you fueled; they’ve also created an incredibly positive and supportive community of women all working towards goals of health and balance.
I definitely recommend checking out their website for some New Year’s Resolution inspiration.
Anyway, those are a few of my favorite cute things to start the New Year. Cheers then to a 2013 filled with goodness, joy and health!
Oh and here is one more dose of cute, courtesy of Payton.

The level of cuteness is almost unbearable.

Love this Whit girl. You should also say that you like your manicurist.
Aww thanks! And you’re right I do love my manicurist…well I did love her until I realized that while she was moonlighting as my eyebrowist she gave me two different eyebrows. I’m going to spend January looking very skeptical…
